Highlighting our shining star resident– Jean
Jean has called our community home since 2018, and in that time, she’s become far more than a resident — she’s become part of the family. This Assisted Living Week, we can’t think of anyone more deserving of the spotlight.
Ask anyone on our team about Jean, and the first thing they’ll mention is her morning greeting. Every single day starts the same way: a warm hug, a bright smile, and without fail, a kind word or a genuine compliment for whoever crosses her path. In a world that can feel rushed, Jean has a way of making every person feel seen the moment she meets them. It’s no wonder we’ve started calling her “Everyone’s Nonna.” Born in Italy, Jean carries that warm, generous spirit you feel when you think about an Italian grandmother.
If you want proof of how much Jean means to the people around her, just look at mealtimes. Jean’s table seats four — but that’s never quite been enough. Often, we push tables together, making room for friends who want to join her. The Cimino family will agree: meals are better when served to a growing table of friends and family.
Jean is also our welcoming ambassador. New residents can feel unsure in those first few days. Jean has made it her quiet mission to change that. She welcomes newcomers with open arms, takes the time to get to know them, and helps them feel at home faster than almost anything else we do. Before long, they’re pulling up a chair at her table too, becoming part of the circle she’s spent years building.
Jean’s impact doesn’t stop at our front door. Families of former residents still stop by to visit her, often bringing flowers as a small thank-you for the friendship and comfort she gave their loved ones. That’s not something you can teach or plan for — it’s simply who Jean is.
This Assisted Living Week, we’re celebrating all of our residents and team members, but we wanted to take a moment to shine an extra bright light on Nonna Jean. She has touched the lives of residents, families, and team members alike, and she reminds us every day what community, warmth, and connection are really about.
