We’re happy to share a bit about some of the key people of CiminoCare in hopes that their backgrounds and qualifications convince you of their commitment to providing quality care to seniors. And, naturally, we hope that you’ll soon visit one of our CiminoCare communities to meet the people who interact with our residents on a daily basis.

Mark Cimino

Mark Cimino

Chief Executive Officer / Director / Owner

Mark has worn many hats in preparation for his combined roles as CiminoCare CEO, Director, and Owner. He is responsible for all aspects of company business operations and financial stewardship. Under his leadership since 1999, we’ve grown from three to 11 senior living, assisted living, and memory care communities, with more on the drawing board.

Like all family members, he began his caregiving career early, assisting his mother in providing home care for seniors. He has served in several capacities in senior housing and long term care, including as an administrator for both skilled nursing and residential care facilities.

Mark earned a B.A. degree from Pacific Union College and a J.D. from University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Wilma Cimino

Wilma Cimino

Co-Founder / Director

Wilma co-founded CiminoCare with her late husband, John, and serves as a Director, as well as continuing her role as President of Burlingame Villa, Inc. As a respected and compassionate caregiver, Wilma continues to set the care standards for CiminoCare where “dignified living meets old-world hospitality”.

For 20 years prior to our founding, she provided in-home care and serving as conservator for elderly clients in her San Francisco peninsula community.

She has given back and served others in her Burlingame community for decades, including 
her church, her local blood bank, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and other projects.

MaryAnn Cimino Shinn

MaryAnn Cimino Shinn

Regional Director, San Francisco & Peninsula / Director

As the Regional Director overseeing CiminoCare’s original communities, MaryAnn played an integral role in the formation of CiminoCare, Inc. As a Board of Directors member, her participation in the corporate planning process has helped guide our company through a recent period of substantial growth.

She has worked in almost every capacity within the company, developing the corporate marketing program, helping shape Quality Assurance efforts, and serving as Operations Manager.

Prior to joining CiminoCare she provided social services and marketing support for the Skilled Nursing Facility and Assisted Living divisions of a CCRC in Portland, Oregon.

MaryAnn earned a B.A. from S.F. State University and an M.A. from The College of Notre Dame.

Adina Nitu

Adina Nitu

Regional Director, Sacramento & Central Valley

Adina is Regional Director of our Sacramento / Central Valley region. She serves on CiminoCare’s Quality Assurance and Executive Committees, while also providing steadfast leadership and expertise in operations, regulatory compliance and quality assurance.

She began her career at Ana Aslan Gerontology and Geriatric Institute where she worked as a nurse from 1994 through 2004.

In 2005, Adina began as a caregiver for CiminoCare at Courtyard Terrace in Citrus Heights. Showing exceptional management skills early on, she quickly rose through the ranks to Shift Manager, then to Resident Care Coordinator, and then to Administrator. She now oversees the greater Sacramento / Central Valley Region.

Mark Woollgar

Mark Woollgar

Chief Financial Officer

Mark brings a wealth of financial and consulting experience to our executive team.

Before co-founding Adams Woollgar Financial Services LLC, he worked for companies in the U.S., Canada and South Africa. He launched his career with Deloitte in South Africa and Canada as an auditor.

Since then, he has worked for Siemens in Canada, Germany, and the U.S. in Controller, M&A and VP Finance roles.

Mark has supported SAP clients in Business Intelligence and been CFO of several small- to-medium-size entities. He has also consulted at Covered California and at Silicon Valley startups.

He earned his Bachelor of Commerce and C.T.A. degrees from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

Bryan Hart

Bryan Hart

Controller / CPA

Bryan provides key financial oversight functions. His professional experience includes preparing and auditing financial statements, developing budgets and strategic initiatives, documenting and implementing internal controls, and utilizing multiple accounting platforms.

After moving from the Bay Area to Sacramento in the early 1990’s, Bryan has worked in a number of positions within the accounting industry.

He spent 7 years at the regional CPA firm, Perry-Smith LLP (now Crowe LLP), and 12 years as Controller at Interland, which managed over $1B in assets.

He earned his B.A. in Business Management from Sonoma State University, M.B.A from San Jose State University, and C.P.A. license in 2002.

Machelle Vietz

Machelle Vietz

Director of Human Resources

As CiminoCare Director of Human Resources, Machelle is responsible for overseeing compliance, the development and training of all employees of our team, as well as recruitment and staffing. She also researches, constructs, and executes best hiring practices and Resident Satisfaction / Quality Improvement services.

Since 1989, Machelle has made understanding the needs of seniors and their families her life’s work. She was previously a caregiver in gero-psych hospital, a social worker in skilled nursing facilities, an administrator of a Seattle assisted living community, and as a licensed family therapist with her own practice.

Machelle has a B.A. in Gerontology, a M.A. in Clinical Psychology, and is a licensed Residential Care for the Elderly (RCFE) administrator in California.

Ethelia Hines

Ethelia Hines

Nurse Consultant / Assisted Living, Clinical Consultant / RN

Ethelia provides ongoing clinical consulting quality improvement audits focused on care best practices, regulatory compliance and risk management. She has implemented a variety of program models tailored to meet specific needs of the CiminoCare team, especially in group facilitation.

As owner-operator of Senior-Care Resources, she also manages a consulting firm focused on the Assisted Living Industry.

An internal consultant and educator, Ethelia has over 20 years of Geriatric Nursing experience, with 15 years in assisted living and memory care. She partners with communities to solve their complex issues for meeting the increased care needs of their residents.

Ethelia earned a M.A. from UCLA in Nursing Administration and Education.

Lynn Goehner

Lynn Goehner

BS, RN, PHN, CCM / Nurse Leadership Consultant

Lynn has provided CiminoCare with her invaluable expertise in the areas of infection control, nurse management, leadership coaching and COVID-19 protocols. Valuing her credentials as a public health nurse, she serves as a vital member of our COVID-19 task force.

Lynn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1982, from California State University in Sacramento, and later attended Stanford Graduate School’s Executive Management Program.

Lynn left the corporate world to pursue her passion in nursing and graduated from UCSF Graduate School of Nursing’s MEPN program to become a registered nurse and a public health nurse. In addition to her nursing licenses, Lynn is certified by the California Board of Registered Nurses to provide continuing education.

Paula Hertel

Director / Operations Marketing Consultant

Paula supports CiminoCare in strategic operations and marketing direction of its current communities, and in evaluating feasibility.

She has spent 30 years focusing on improving service delivery systems for the elderly in executive management positions and consulting projects throughout the U.S.

In addition, she has in-depth experience and a proven track record in senior housing and assisted living operations, team training, regulatory compliance and new program development. Paula was most recently Chief Operating Officer of AgeSong Senior Communities.

Paula has a M.S.W. (Masters in Social Work) from San Jose State University.

Scott Eckstein

Scott Eckstein

Development, Acquisition Executive Consultant

Scott is a key member of the CiminoCare acquisition and development team focused on market feasibility, proformas and project management. With more than 20 years’ experience in senior living and healthcare, Scott is a development and operations executive with an in-depth understanding of best practices.

His expertise encompasses strategic planning, project development, and executing every step of senior living project management.

Scott’s specialties include market and pro forma analysis, site selection, new community openings, employee recruiting and training, operations, budgeting, facilities management, sales and marketing, and turnarounds.

He earned a B.S.B.A. from American University and an M.B.A. from New York University.
