CiminoCare Gets Ready to Celebrate National Assisted Living Week® at Our Communities

National Assisted Living Week® is from September 10 – 16, 2017

Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week® provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance encourages assisted living communities around the country to offer a variety of events and activities to celebrate the individuals they serve, as well as to help educate members of the public about this distinctive aspect of long-term care.

“Family is Forever” is this year’s theme for National Assisted Living Week®. This year’s theme is inspired by the following quote written by the poet Maya Angelou:

“Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people in your life who want you in theirs: the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.”

During this week in September, as people across the country group together in celebrating National Assisted Living Week®, our CiminoCare team is really taking to heart the “Family is Forever” theme. This year’s theme truly resonates with CiminoCare’s core philosophy of making decisions based on the wellbeing of our residents, families, and staff, thereby creating a culture of caring stemming directly from the heart. This ideology was instilled in us at a young age by our mother, Wilma Cimino, who unremittingly impressed upon us the importance of treating others in the same manner that we would treat our own family members—with a high level of respect, kindness, and inclusiveness. Thus in honor of National Assisted Living Week®, many of our communities will be hosting afternoon family appreciation luncheons and parties on Saturday, September 16, 2017 as a way of showing our appreciation to all of our residents and their families.

Please join us for Mills Estate Villa’s family appreciation luncheon on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from noon to 1:30 p.m., and for Burlingame Villa’s family appreciation party on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and be sure to visit our community Facebook pages for all additional details.

Warmly,

Mark Cimino and MaryAnn Cimino Shinn
