From community focused outings and events, to visiting groups and well-planned life enrichment activities, life at Portola Gardens is inspired by the surrounding neighborhood. A private dining room is available for special events or celebrations, and family and friends are always welcome to join us. We share these events and activities with you, along with educational articles and personal stories, to offer a sense of what our residents experience in life at Portola Gardens.
The Journal of American Geriatric Society recently confirmed what we already suspected, that music – listening, playing or creating – has a significant effect on cognitive functioning for older adults with dementia symptoms. Portola Gardens is excited to welcome Rosabell as our new Musical Activity Coordinator to help improve the quality of life for our residents through music and activities!
Join us as we celebrate Older Americans Month (OAM) with this year’s theme of “Communities of Strength.” After a challenging year and being apart, this is a great reminder of the importance of community for support, connection and compassion.
