CiminoCare Wall of Fame: Ana Medorio
Ana Medorio, Administrator of Burlingame Villa, is celebrating 25 years as a committed team member of CiminoCare. Embodying the values of CiminoCare, she has spent her entire career supporting residents, families and team members.
Ana essentially grew up in the CiminoCare Angels family! Ana spent her youth in Mexico, where most of her family still resides. She came to the U.S. when she was 21 years old and newly married. Her first job was as a caregiver at CiminoCare’s original six-bed care home in Burlingame. Ana and founder, Wilma Cimino, have formed a mentorship relationship over the years that has transcended beyond the feel of the “employee-employer relationship.”
After many years of dedication serving as a caregiver, her sense of responsibility and leadership made it a natural step for her to grow into roles as Shift Manager, Resident Care Coordinator, and eventually as Administrator of both the original six-bed care home, and more recently, Burlingame Villa, a 27-bed Memory Care Community. Under Ana’s steadfast and stable leadership, Burlingame Villa residents, family members, and team members have been able to experience a calmness and joy in the community. The stability and calming style of Ana makes for a better quality of life for all.
Ana is driven by her commitment to family life and she brings this feeling to Burlingame Villa. She is inspired every day with the opportunity to really care for and take part in the residents’ lives. She feels part of the CiminoCare family and has a special spot in her heart for “Mama Cimino” whom she calls an angel. Ana’s favorite part of her job is the opportunity to take care of residents, especially those living with dementia.
Ana lives in San Mateo and has one grown son who is now 22 years old. Like the CiminoCare kids, while he was growing up, he spent time at Burlingame Villa while his mom worked. He would hang out with residents, do activities and entertain the residents with his boyhood charm. He loved it and they loved him!
When she isn’t working, Ana likes to walk, spend time with her son, cook, go to movies and read. “I am really happy where I am right now. I live a simple life, I have my work, my son and I love my job. I don’t see myself working anywhere else!”
